Built and maintain the chapter’s public-facing website for prospective members, volunteers, and community audiences. The site supports recruitment, environmental education, community science, volunteer engagement, and access to natural-resource information.

I’m a multimedia journalist, communications professional, and educator with more than 20 years of newsroom and higher education experience.
At Virginia Tech, I find and produce stories about faculty research, student success, alumni, and institutional priorities. Earlier, I reported on higher education, public affairs, local government, research, and community life for The Roanoke Times; managed a community newsroom as interim editor of The Franklin News-Post; and taught visual media in Virginia Tech’s School of Communication.
I hold master’s and bachelor’s degrees in English from Virginia Tech. I am a Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies and a Certified Virginia Master Naturalist.
